apologies are due!

Well, I'm hoping that some of you are understanding of my time (or lack thereof), and my not being able to update my blog properly!

I am so sorry that I haven't been able to update you all on baby Siena, Lia, and the crazy life in between.

I will definitely be updating soon - birth story, baby Siena pictures, 365 pictures, etc.

But for now, I must attend to our two girls :)

I was recently on one of my favorite cloth diapering sites - Dirty Diaper Laundry, where Kim is a SAHM who does amazing cloth diaper video reviews that I love to watch. Just today, she put a post up in regards to Pampers new "fashionable" Precious Prints disposable diapers. Here is the image of the limited edition line:

I think this is just hilarious! Not only are they trying to compete with the cute factor of cloth diapers - which are, in fact, the cutest things I've ever seen on Lia's bum... but they're hanging them on a clothesline! Like, seriously, Pampers, get with the program. You're selling me these disposable diapers which are adding tons of [poopy] garbage to our landfills, taking tons of money out of my pocket, and now you're trying to sell me on the cute factor.

Ain't gonna work.

Also, slight side note on this Pampers rant... a mother posted a comment on Dirty Diaper Laundry, that she had written to Pampers asking for a list of ingredients in their diapers. Here is their [unfortunate] response.

Lia has had a really bad ear infection this past weekend - her very first one. It was so awful for us (and for her, too, I suppose ;) ), because it was the very first time that she was ever SICK sick. It's so hard to see your baby (toddler) struggling and not be able to articulate what's hurting. Luckily, we got to get in to the doctor right away to get diagnosed that it was, in fact, an ear infection.

The above picture is how Lia was actually feeling, and the picture below is her attempt at giving me a smile when she feels how she looks above :)

 

Valiant effort, right?? She's so sweet to be so kind and give me a good try.

Couple more weeks until baby Siena comes - then I will miss these precious moments. Hopefully these posts will help me never forget.

memorial day

We had a little Memorial Day BBQ with some of our besties - and of course, Acaiah was there in all smiles and laughs and love. She is so bright and loving, and Lia really gets excited when she sees her. This is the girls attempting to share - and by sharing, they just sit on each other and figure it out. It was so hilarious!

We had a really beautiful day, and I'm so grateful for our wonderful friends. I love when we constantly are blessed with community, which is where our joy comes from. Michael and I definitely thrive when are surrounded by family and friends - learning and teaching and just being with those that the Lord has set into our lives. I am so excited for Lia to learn to love community and communal life in the same way. I hope that her heart extends from our little community of friends and family, all the way to those that she doesn't personally know, but are our brothers and sisters in the Lord.
